Washington Drug Card Saves Millions For Residents

Washington state's drug card program has saved residents more than $2.6 million since it was launched in August of last year, program officials have announced.

The Washington Drug Card helps people who are uninsured or underinsured but can be used by anyone, even those who have insurance if they use the card for drugs not covered by their plan. The card is funded by pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies and accepted at more than 50,000 different locations across the country.

The state says there are no restrictions, no income requirements, no age limits, and no application to fill out. The average savings are between 30 and 75 percent off on drugs.
